Cherine Salamoun, founder of the brand and daughter of the owner of a prestigious and renown tannery in Lebanon, launched “Clarea” in 2020. It all started in the 1980s, back when she was 16 years old designing bags, belts and all kinds of leather accessories with her mother to sell them to some of the most prominent shops in town. In 1995, she created “Leather Pro”, a leader in promotional leather items, and another success story. All of this changed when her 21-year-old daughter, a vintage lover, came home one day with a bag and a belt that she bought from a vintage shop and that, coincidently Cherine and her mother created 30 years earlier. This motivated her to launch Clarea as a tribute to her mom and a gift and inspiration to her daughter.
